colt starting
Taylor has 10 years experience in starting colts properly for a life long career. Starting out on ranch colts, Taylor also has started thoroughbreds and quarter horses for the racetrack, worked at the famous T-Cross Ranches, and has also started multiple cow horse and versatility horses with apprenticeships at Baldus Horsemanship, taking colts all the way from first ride to top finishes in NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity, Hackamore, and SHTX competition.
Believing in a well-rounded education with a positive outlook, Taylor strives to build a colt's confidence by working on multiple jobs, not drilling on show maneuvers. Working on daily ranch chores, horses with all sorts of futures will be well-rounded in working gates, walking over obstacles, cattle, dogs, and general life experience. This keeps training fresh, minds solid, and builds solid skills for a long useful future.
finishing & Tune-up
Taylor assists in tune-ups and finishing older horses in stock horse, ranch horse, cow horse, and roping endeavors. He is able to gauge a horse's skill level, and where there are holes that need to be addressed. After understanding the goal of the owner for the horse, he can advise a path to maximize a horse's potential and catch them up to show ready for SHTX, NRCHA, breed shows, and more. non-pro lessons & clinics
Taylor is a great coach with a friendly, approachable teaching style favored by non-pros and teenagers. He is able to work on goals, and coach at shows. He has also learned from some of the most well-known clinicians on how to best communicate to individual riders, and is a favorite at clinic events for his helpful wisdom and caring.
